Is the SSL and non SSL on the same server and if not or not in the same path, then do you have a unique ftp username and password to upload to the secure server part of their hosting they provide?

The reason for highlighting this is that your normal ftp and ssl ftp addresses are the same, which means same webspace, which I do not think is the case.

How do you intend on collecting CC details, i.e. receipt for manual processing, or are you going to be using a Online Credit Card Processor (OCCP) like WorldPay etc, which if you are, then the SSL on your site is not really required as the OCCP will provide the SSL during card details capture.

Other option if you really get no where and no one else on the forum has Hostway network settings for it under both http and https and you want the CC details for manual processing is the Actinic Shared SSL service. more on that if that is needed can be found at: http://www.4surehosting.co.uk/hostin...ared_ssl.shtml

      Thanks,

I intend to collect the CC details for manual processing on a PDQ.

There was an error in the above network setting the SSLFTP should have read

      ssl3.lon.gb.securedata.net

The SSL space points to another directory on my webspace i.e

Normal FTP to jacks.uk.com will look like

      - Stats
      - Secure
      - WWW -- Acatalog
      -- cgi-bin

And the SSL Ftp goes to the folder named 'Secure'

Some has suggested putting the whole catalog under the secure directory but only using SSL for the checkout part. is this the only fix ?

OK. Problem is that you have a SSL url of:

        https://ssl3.lon.gb.securedata.net/j....com/acatalog/

Which does not exist if you click upon it... So this means that your normal non ssl space is not connected in the same path as you think that it is, and as such you really need to speak with the host to see if 1, they have created the connections properly, 2, is both really on the same server - not physical server as both your domain and the ssl3 domain resolve to the same IP address, but same virtualserver space.

If they are unwilling to assist, then the only thing is to find someone else using Actinic who hosts with them and has already done the graft of getting this to work in ssl and non ssl modes of operation - sorry.
