    Network Wizard just keeps freezing

Hi, I have only just purchased Actinic recently and want to upload the site to my windows server. I am using the wizard to set up everything but it keeps locking up at different stages every time I try. I am using a PC with windows 98 (I know its old) but have also tried it with another machine running windows XP, It locks up every time before it finishes and always at a different point in the wizard. Also, when it does manage to go through several stages, I get all kinds of errors, such as those below:

As far as I know, my settings are correct

    site address: http://www.mysite.co.uk
    cgi-bin: http://www.mysite.co.uk/cgi-bin
    acatalog: http://www.mysite.co.uk/acatalog

    ftp settings
    mysite.co.uk
    username
    password

    passive is ticked

    path to cgi-bin: www/cgi-bin/
    path to acatalog: www/acataog/

Some times the above works as far as getting to cgi-bin when testing from network settings, but when using the wizard I have to change both settings to:

    path to cgi-bin: username/www/cgi-bin/
    path to acatalog: username/www/acataog/

This gets me a step further in the wizard before crashing again, but if i try again using the test feature, it cant find the cgi-bin and i have to change back to first settings to move on.

    some errors are:

Cant find acatalog from cgi-bin, it may not exist, well surely it doesnt exist as Actinic is supposed to create it when you upload, (im confused).

and...The name does not match that on your SSL certificate. What name?, I asked for a certificate from my service provider, which they gave me, the only details I have for it are the address of my site which is the same but for the 's' on the http bit.

The main problem at present though is why should it lock up, if I cant reach the end of the wizard I will never be able to find any other faults.

I had all the correct permissions put on for me, as a user and for scripts.

Ive pulled out more hair in the last few days, any assistance would be gratefully received

    windows servers

Is your scrpit time out set to be quite long.

I am not sure if it is your server or one at an ISP. All ours were at FastHosts and we have pulled he off and placed them on linux servers specifically because of the script time outs which appear to be locked in W2003.

The other to check if you are using a server you are configuring your sel is that you have the correct authorities on the directorie that Actinic needs.

Otherwise, have you shown your net settings to someone at Actinic support. They are usually very quick to spot an issue.

    Good luck.

It is an ISP server, I dont know what the time out settings would be set to, I will check with them.

      Thanks

        Hi there

Cant find acatalog from cgi-bin, it may not exist, well surely it doesnt exist as Actinic is supposed to create it when you upload
I wonder if you get the above error message because of the below setting.
        path to acatalog: username/www/acataog/
This should read "../acatalog/" instead of what you put.

Otherwise, have you shown your net settings to someone at Actinic support. They are usually very quick to spot an issue.
I would suggest in registering an email ticket with out support team, you may need someone to have a look into your server and configure it.
The link for email support is: http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm
