    Flummoxed

Hi there hoping for some help. We have developer to assist us in creating a number of in house stores and are just at the testing stage of our first site.

My problem is with the directory structures in the set up.

We have a number of domains that are set up within one master package with our hosts.

eg. www.maindomain.co.uk with www.seconddomain.co.uk set up to point to www.maindomain.co.uk/seconddomain

I cannot get my mind round configuring actinic to put the acatalog and cgi files into the sub directory on the main site.

At present I have the ftp settings as ftp.maindomain.co.uk - acatalog as maindomain.co.uk/acatalog/ and cgi bin at maindomain.co.uk/seconddomain/cgi-bin/

The scripts run fine with this config but I am hitting problems with the home page and catalog which I want to put into the subfolder.

    Hi there

For the main shop you would have:
    http://www.maindomain.co.uk/acatalog/
    http://www.maindomain.co.uk/cgi-bin/

So the folder are next to each other

For the 2nd domain you would have
    http://www.maindomain.co.uk/seconddomain/acatalog/
    http://www.maindomain.co.uk/seconddomain/cgi-bin/

So again the two folder are next to each other.

    This should resolve your issue

      Thanks - but

Thanks for the reply but I am still unsure as how to proceed.

maindomain.co.uk will not have a shop in there just seconddomain and in the future thirddomain, fourthdomain etc.

I understand the file structure within the main directories but are you suggesting that the only way I can actually upload to the sub directories is using the advanced configuartion set up as opposed to the wizard i.e setting the url to www.firstdomain.co.uk/seconddomain/acatalog/ and so forth?

How does this then sit with the home page scenario where index.html sits in the directory above acatalog.

If this is so my ftp settings allow me to transfer to ftp.firstdomain.co.uk and ftp.seconddomain.co.uk (although these are in fact one and the same).

        Yes that is correct

Well you know the homepage will be uploaded to "www.firstdomain.co.uk/seconddomain/" so you may want to have you own homepage on "www.firstdomain.co.uk" and point it straight to "www.firstdomain.co.uk/seconddomain/acatalog/"

          Nadeem / Martin

The best way to achieve this is to give each site a different Script ID and retain the same cgi-bin for all sites.

          www.firstdomain.co.uk/seconddomain/acatalog/ with
www.firstdomain.co.uk/seconddomain/ set as the website url will do this no problems
