    Uploading to password protected directory

I want to upload my actinic site to a password protected directory of my website so that I can test it out without anybody else being able to access it. There doesn't seem to be any way of doing this without turning off and on the password protection, which is tedious in my case. In searching previous threads on this, I find that Nadeem said in December 2002 that he was adding it to the wish list. It is now December 2004. Is there a way of doing this that I haven't noticed? I have Actinic 7.02.

    Hi Sarah

I find that Nadeem said in December 2002 that he was adding it to the wish list. It is now December 2004.
I did add it to the wishlist, but nobody else requested this feature, therefore it was not considered for a future release so far. However just spoken to one of our development team, we feel this is a server configuration which is no something that actinic will do

I'm afraid you will still need to use .htaccess to protect a directory.

    Kind Regards
