    HSBC Failed Transaction Message

    Trying to integrate my site with HSBC e payments site. What could be wrong when I get the message "The transaction failed because of invalid input data"?

    Thanks to Actinic which sent me this step by step guide;

    Please follow these steps :

    1. Go to View | Business Settings | Payment and Security.
    2. With HSBC selected in the Payment method, click on Configure Method. In the Payment Service Provider Configuration window, you will need to enter the StorefrontID and CPI Hash as provided by HSBC.
    3. Select Run in Production Mode or Test Mode as required.
    4. You can choose to either Pre-authorise transactions, which means that all orders will be downloaded into the Pending Payment Service Provider tab in the Orders window. They will be completed only after you personally authorise the transactions. If you choose Charge Transactions Immediately, the orders will be processed online through the HSBC server.
    Place a test order to see if this works.

    I did this but was still unable to integrate with HSBC's site. They eventuallty reset my CPI Hash Key. I then received a different message which said that HSBC had rejected the transaction and the processor did not return a response.

    HSBC IT team then went away in a 4 hour huddle.

    Then after a week of total frustration they phoned me to say that they had sorted out the problem and I was now able to accept credit card payments. Praise be! Why are some things so difficult?

    HSBC transaction failed

    I have also had this message when in test mode using Developer 7. I have tried a few times to process a transaction, but it does not even get to the card number, etc stage, only takes the card name & address details, which are correct. - just says, transaction failed because of invalid input data.

    HELP!

      Hi,

      You need to contact HSBC and ask them to put your account live at their end. Then the transactions will go through.
