    URL doesn't exist

Hi, I've been trying to use the ConnectionWizard to set up my Actinic site, I've only managed to get past the FTP set up, when it asks for my Web Site Address, I receive a message saying that:

'the URL does not refer to a web server.' and the operation times out

It does refer to my website as I already have a sight up there. Am I missing something?

    Many thanks for any input.

It sounds like Actinic is unable to find your site. Does it have permission to access the internet in your firewall?

How can I check if it has permission or not? Or systems administrator is not available!

That should be Ok then. I was thinking more about any firewall you might have on your PC.

Did you enter the 'http://www.malge.co.uk/' for the web site url? If not try that.

                Hi there

                Please try the following:

                1. If you are using 7.02 (Latest Version), then in Actinic, go to "Advance | Network Setup", and place a tick in "Use Enhanced FTP", then try the wizard again

                2. Do an Internet Explorer test, open I.E and in the address bar, type in ftp://usernameassword@serverhost. You should see a listing of your folders.

                Kind Regards

                  1. Tried the enhanced FTP already, but no luck, I must be doing something wrong

                  2. Tried that too, but it says it can't find that URL

                    Hi there

If the 2nd one does not work, then it looks like the ftp connection has been closed. This is the reason whay Actinic cannot upload. If I.E cannot ftp to your site, then Actinic will not be able to do this.
Are you going through a proxy server, if so, then you would need to allow ftp connection on port 20 and 21. Please check: http://www.actinicdownloads.com/docs...erver_2000.pdf

                    Kind Regards

Are you running Norton ? If so you have to go to exclusions list and add actinic
