    Help with design issues required

    Hi,

    We have Actinic V7 catalog and have approx 30,000 products which will need to be uploaded. The main problems at the moment are :-

    1) We do not want any sections or sub-sections and will import products straight into the on-line catalogue. How can we remove the navigation from the left of the screen (we will not want 30,000 products appearing !) and just have a search box ?

    2) We need the design we choose to be very search engine friendly. Can you advise on the best design to use to acheive this ?

    Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dave

    You want to have 30,000 products on the store homepage??

    remove this code from Act_Primary.html

    <script language=Javascript1.2>
    document.write(YahooSections(section_tree))
    </script>

    Add this for a search box

      Giving proper product descriptions will help you with search engine friendlieness.

      Use the product name as an alt tag next to each product.

      With 30,000 products I am sure the page will do pretty well.

        Hi Gary,

        Many thanks for your prompt response it is most appreciated. We do not want 30,000 products on one page ! We want each product to have its down page and a search box for users to search for a given product reference.

        What we obviously don't want is 30,000 products list on left.

        Hope this makes sense.

          You will need 30,000 sections to achieve this. If you to give me a call in the morning (details here) and we can help you work out the best way to set this beast up.
