Test Site Upload

I'm trying to upload a test site to the host server, and am getting as far as 'directories' when using the Actinic Web Site Configuration Wizard'. I can see that the CGI-Bin and Web Root directories are on the server, but when selecting 'next' I'm getting an error;

'An error occurred while sending an HTTP request to the web server. Perhaps your network is down or the web server is down. Try again or contact your network administrator or ISP to correct the situation.

I've been trying for a few days, and I really don't want to wait on the phone to 1and1 for another half an hour ... any ideas would be very much appreciated, thank you

there are many posts here on one&one network settings, find these to type the settings in yourself rather than use the wizard - post if you make progress
