Updating a client's site (with LE)

    hi,

i have actinic catalog LE (v.7)
I have altered templates and built a site for someone else - presumably i could then send them the software and a site snapshot so they can retrieve orders etc.

If at a later date the site templates need updating, how can i do this remotely?

Does actinic catalog LE allow multiple licensing of the same site? i.e. we both have copies of the software..
If so could i "update website" and never "retrieve orders" and he could do the opposite?

i don't really want to have to send back and forwards as the client is not at all technically minded and i want the process to be as simple as possible..

any other solutions if this is not possible? (looking into developer and order manager already but i'd rather avoid the outlay at the moment..)

    thank you,

    david

    Hi there,

You would still need the software installed on your machine and upload the site with the changes made.

If so could i "update website" and never "retrieve orders" and he could do the opposite?
Yes you can turn off certains functions within Actinic.
To turn off downloading orders for you, simply go to "View | Business Settings | Options" and untick for "Allow on this PC", "Order Processing".
To turn off uploading for your client, as well as design change, within the same "Allow on this PC", he would untick "Catalog Maintenance", "Design Change", and "Network Setup".
