    Merging files error/Btconnect

    HI
I'm trying to upload my site into my btconnect webspace for the first time.
All goes well until I get to the merge files section and I get the error message-
" Actinic received a network error while merging files on the server. Try again later and contact your network administrator if the problem persists. The server name or address could not be resolved"
It seems bt connect use _vti_bin, _vti_cnf, _vti_txt for cgi files.
I know nothing about html code.
    Any suggestions appreciated.
    Regards

    Pete

Have a look at this thread. It looks like should maybe be cust-bin, not cus-bin.

            Thanks

            Tried that no joy!
Also tried setting proxy as per Actinic knowledge base thread, no joy!
I'm waiting for a reply from bt, but it looks as though I'll have to it hosted somewhere else.
Thought it would be cheap and having 100mb web space doing nothing.
            Regards

Try Advanced / Network Setup / Network Test and see what happens.

I'm sorry to report, but I myself have experienced this exact same problem with btconnect.

The problem is this: BT's Web servers don't have the right permissions. And what's even worse is, there's no way they can change them.
It took me 3 days constantly switching phone conversations between BT and Actinic support to find this out!!

Still, after all the grief, I gave up with btconnect, and went and got myself a different web host - (ahhhh... web space which actually worked - what a relief!!!) - at first, I joined netbenefit, who I must admit, have fantastic servers!
However, I was using 800mb of web space, and after 2 or 3 months, I decided that it was costing me too much money. But eventually, I discovered Fasthosts!! - you get 2GB of web space for £21 every 3 months!!
That package also comes with your own SMTP; website stats; cuddly toy; an in-depth explanation of the quantum processes behind the mystery observations made whilst conducting the twin-slit experiment!!!

apart from that, that's all the help I can offer....
                  still thinking of one...
