    Cookie Blocking

    Hi
I am having the same problem as Marknc who posted on 21/3/2005 to say that a couple of his customers had baskets emptying them selves. my website is new and I am no techie, but understand that this is due to cookie blocking. The person whose basket was emptying, enabled cookies on their computer and managed to put stuff in the basket with no problems. Is there any other way round this apart from customers enabling cookies, I am concerned that I may be losing customers.

There's no way around it. Actinic needs the cookie to associate a PC with the shopping cart.

Other ecommerce sites add the session file name to the links and keep track of it that way (i.e. www.url.com/acatalog/index.html?xxx1234abcdxxxx) but that makes it a mess for the search engines and for anyone who bookmarks a page, etc.
