Having problems on first upload to aaabusinesshosting

Hello, and thank you for your time.

Im having a problem uploading my website, it keeps telling me that it has problems excuting the perl script cp000002.pl because it doesnt have permission (in the cgi-bin folder i think). The current permission is 755, there's no point in setting it to 777 because I wouldnt want to leave the file open like that..

My network settings are as follows:

    HTTPPROXYMODE 0
    HTTPPROXYADDRESS
    HTTPPROXYPORT 80
    HTTPPROXYUSER
    HTTPPROXYPASSWORD
    FTPPROXYMODE 0
    FTPPROXYADDRESS
    FTPPROXYPORT 21
    FTPPROXYUSER
    FTPPROXYPASSWORD
    SCRIPTID 2
    SCRIPTEXT .pl
    SMTPHOST
    WEBSITEURL
    IGNOREPASSIVEERRORS true
    USERELATIVECGIURLS false
    PATHTOPERL /usr/bin/perl
    USEENHANCEFTP true
    CATALOGURL http://www.futuronics.co.uk/acatalog/
    CGIBINURL http://www.futuronics.co.uk/cgi-bin/
    PATHFROMCGITOCATALOG ../acatalog/
    CODEBASE ./
    FTPHOST 65.101.***.**
    FTPUSERNAME *******
    FTPPASSWORD *******
    PATHTOCGIBIN /web/cgi-bin/
    USEPASSIVEFTP false
    FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG

has anybody else had this problem, if so, how did you rectify this?

    thanks in advance,

    David.

    Hi David,

For Actinic stores we advise to have the permission of the /acatalog/ folder to have a permission of 777 and the cgi-bin script as 755. If the /acatalog/ folder does not have 777 permission, then it may not work.

With regards to your problem server are you running, Windows or Unix? The network setting seem fine for a unix server, but if you are running a windows server then this settings will be incorrect. Please could you tell us what server you are running.

    Kind Regards

... however some sites will not run at 777 for acatalog - so try 755 if it doesn't.

You are also on a Cobalt RaQ - so http://www.actinic.co.uk/hosting/doc...RaQ_Server.pdf might be of use.
