      Actinic Error

      Hi Joe

      Please see below my settings.
      CATALOG URL http://ccgi.international.force9.co.uk/acatalog/
      CGI BIN URL http://ccgi.international.force9.co.uk /cgi-bin/
PATH FROM CGI TO CATALOG ../acatalog/
      CODEBASE ./acatalog/
      FTP HOST cshell.force9.net
      FTP USERNAME ****
      FTP PASSWORD **********
      PATH TO CGI BIN /cgi-bin/
      USE PASSIVE FTP false

The error message I am getting is:
Unable to move to the acatalog directory "../" on the FTP server possibly due to a mistake in the Path from CGI-BIN to acatalog Directory field.
      (null)

Any help you can give I would be gratefull

      Regards

      Patrick

        Force9

I am also trying to connect to force9 with no luck so far. They have told me that unless I use the force9 dialup connection, it will not work. I am on a broadband connection not the slow dial up. When I try from the command prompt > telnet cshell.force9.net
It says connection reset by server. It should ask for your username and password.

Also check if you are on the new cgi which I understand is cshell.force9.net with your username and password.

Good luck, if you get success could you post the settings.

        Regards

          Telnet

          Good evening

You should use the settings below if you are using the new cgi Platform from the command promet.

          telnet ccgi.yourusername.force9.co.uk

My problem is using the test before up loading my site, I had no problems on the old Platform just the new one.

Hmm is there any chance they can set up the new server to be the same configuration as the old server?

              Kind Regards

                Hi Nadeem

Unfortunately they have only given us 90 days to move to the new server before they remove the old one. They say the settings are the same but they are not.

One of my problems is the fact that when using the Test the Network settings in Actinic, when it gets to testing the CGI Scripts Actinic locks up and I have to close the program down.

If you have any ideas then I would appreciate it.

                Regards

                  Hi there

If its testing the cgi script and its locks up, i wonder if it has the correct permission for the script to execute. On a linux server, they should be 755. Have you tried going into "Web | Configure Web Site Details", and let it scan through your site.

                  Kind Regards

                    Actinic

                    Hi Nadeem

I have tried the wizard but I get the following message.

An error occurred when trying to send a HTTP request to the web server.

I have also checked the Permissions as well.

Any idea’s what I do now.

                    Regards

                    Pat

Have your host been able to provide any ideas or suggestions, as surely there must be others in the same boat with this move, so many minds (on the same server) should make lighter work of it - what they say?

                        Hi Good Afternoon

                        Help you must be joking.

Trying to get help from Force9 is like pulling teeth.

I have tried one other hosting company but there support is the same as Force9, they want your money but that is it as far as it goes.
I sent an email to one of the hosting company’s that you have on your front page that was two weeks ago and I am still waiting for then to have the courtesy to reply.

I am now in the process of signing up with pinbrook some time this week, as I had a reply from them through the community and they tried to help and I am not even with them.

If you want to know the name I will tell you but not over through the Actinic Community.

                        I will keep you informed.

                        Regards

                            Force9

Thanks for all those people who tried to help me with my problems with forc9.

I have now signed up with Supanames as my hosting company.

Within 24 to 36 hours my Actinic site was up and running this included a new domain name as well.

                            Regards
