    greyed out network config options

My customer began developing a site using the downloaded trial version 7 of Actinic, and I have since purchased Developer V 7 for my own use, and also purchased Business V7 for my clients PC for them to continue developing the site.

The menu option "Web - Configure Web Site Options..." was greyed out (even after I'd entered the license key), which I gather from reading these forums may be due to it being a pre-configured trial version

I therefore uninstalled the software, and reinstalled it from CD and re-entered the license key. The network options became available, and after a bit of fiddling with the settings, and I was able to upload the "trial" site which is there when the software is first installed. I exported the network settings.

I then installed the backed up site snapshot from my customers PC, and reinstalled the network settings which were earlier working.

But right now the "Web - Configure Web Site Options..." is greyed out again, and I have limited access to "Advanced - Network Setup" i.e. the Apply, FTP Options, and Test buttons are greyed out. If I attempt a site upload which had earlier worked before these settings were exported and re-imported, I get the message "Error sending version negotiation request", or, another time i got "Unable to connect to the HTTP server "www.zyx.co.uk". The operation timed out".

My firewall is Zonealarm which opens a dialogue if there is an access problem, and the option "Switch to test mode" shows in the Web menu.

Any urgent help would be much appreciated, my customer expects to go live next Wednesday, and I'm losing hair rapidly.

    Regards

    Hi Mark

I suspect Actinic is running in Host Mode at the moment. You can confirm this in Advanced | Network Setup, you will see Actinic Host Mode in the top right-hand corner.
To enable the greyed out options, click on the Convert button in this window and click on Yes to bring Actinic into Normal mode.

Now you will be able to enter the FTP details and also use the network configuration wizard.

    Hope this helps.
