    Upload problem

Anyone come across this one ?

After a lot of time and effort I eventually managed to get my network setup configured (1&1). When I try to actually upload the site I get the following message -

    "Error sending version negotiation request"

Like most computer messages this means absolutely nothing to the poor user just trying to get on with the job !

I'm using a trial version at the moment, it's been so much bother trying to get it set up with our 1&1 account I'm really beginning to wonder if it's worth it.

    Any ideas out there !

A quick search gave four previous threads - check you're not still in test mode. If you are, click Advanced | Network Setup and click the convert button to switch to live mode and try again.

Tried that but all it did was remove my server settings from the network setup screen.

OK and once you re-entered the settings, did it work?

[added]BTW - to tell if you are still in host mode and not live, check in the top right corner of the Network Setup page.

It worked, hadn't realised that I had to then change the network settings again. Something else now though, when I upload the site it overwrites our existing index.html file even though I've changed the base page name in design/options, is there something I'm missing ?

          Cheers.

There is a checkbox 'use as website home page' in Actinic for the brochure home page - do you have this ticked?
