    Confused about colours.....

I've managed to upload my site into the Actinic test space today (thank goodness!!). Chuffed to bits when Krithika explained how to do a global font change (no programming required).

Slight hitch though - when I viewed the site in Explorer the background was white. I asked someone else to take a look and tell me what they thought and they said that the colour was "a bit strong". They were also viewing from Explorer but what they saw wasn't what I saw. So we looked from an Opera viewer and yes, there are colours that I didn't know existed my site has a blue background behind the text. The image on the homepage also has a blue background but the image on the products pages don't?????

Please could somebody explain? How will I know what customers are seeing from a colour point of view - the colour scheme that I'm using is seasprays. What I'd really like to know is what all of the various boxes mean. i.e, which bits are appelet's and which are form?? Has anyone else had a similar problem?

      Hi Nadeem

From my previous postings (and the test site) you'll know I'm no computer programmer but I'd really like to make the site look reasonable and try and get everything working properly. My test address is:

      http://trials.actinic.com/trials/trial19673/shop.html

Having looked at a lot of other Actinic sites, I know it isn't really very good and could be heaps better - I've still got to add lots of products and I've got to make navigation a lot more user friendly (any suggestions?).

Also - does anyone have any ideas about why the "back to top of page" icon within the shop part of the site doesn't want to work?

Thanks for looking - any ideas appreciated.

I've managed to figure out what was wrong I think. In my control panel, Appearance & Themes, the High Contrast setting for display was ticked - it seems as though this was overriding colour schemes applied to the majority of websites I viewed and all other packages on my PC too - WOW! It's great - now in the display at the bottom of my Actinic editing page I've got the colours as they actually are - this should make things a little easier.

This is the first time I've seen the Actinic Community page in blue too - I didn't know it was possible to get a colour blind PC or that mine was one of them but everything looks really different now the colours back.
