Any Help on http request error!

I'm trying to upload a site to hosting.123-reg.co.uk, everything seems to upload fine until I get to the the analyzing of the site. It finds the cgi-bin & the acatalog directories ok, but then when I hit next, I get the following error-
"An error returned while sending an http request to the web server. Perhaps your network is down or the web server is down. Try again or contact your network administrator or isp to correct the problem."
I've got a reply, and they've sent me details, which i've followed, but I still keep getting to this stage and getting the error!
Confused! And getting annoyed as I can't get the site uploaded!
Any help on this matter would be appreciated!

Yip, it's really annoying, thing is, when I upload it to my own webspace, instead of my client's, it uploads & works fine! Worst case scenario, maybe he'll have to change hosts, or I can host it for him-not ideal though!
If I get any joy, i'll let you know!

This thread here looks to be quite thorough on the network settings for 123reg. Have you the same settings or something different.

I received mails back this morning from 123 & Actinic-bless em

We have put together some instruction for those setting up Actinic
Ecommerce on 123-reg.

1 - Login to your site using FTP client software such as CuteFTP

2 - Create a directory called cgi-bin

3 - Create a dirctory called acatalog

4 - Set permissions on cgi-bin to "755"

5 - Set Permissions on acatalog to "777"

6 - Replace <YourDomain>, <YourUserName> and <YourPassword> in the
following 16 lines of text with the information supplied by 123-reg and
save them to a text file. You can then import them into Actinic
Ecommerce using "Advanced | Network Setup | Import"

If this does not work please register the problem at
www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.html and cut and paste the text into
the web form.

When you ftp into your site, is the cgi-bin shown directly or do you have to enter a directory first?

If there's a directory then the pathtocgibin needs to show that directory.

Well bugger me if it hasnt just worked

I have no idea what it was, deleted everything & redid it.

Steve I had exactly the same error as you at one point, so if you can post your settings I will compare
