Clean reinstall... copying sites etc

Think this forum is probably more appropriate than the V7 one really.
I'm about to do a clean reinstall of V7.0.5 (as opposed to my patch from 7.0.4) as I am having several issues with this version (not least of which is being unable to open my second site from within Actinic)
I have done an up to date snapshot of my Site1 (catalog) site which I can import first into the new install.
But, as I can't open my Business site, I am unable to do a snapshot to import into the clean installation. Can I just create the site, using my license key, name it as SiteJ (as it is now) and then copy over a backup of my siteJ folder?

Will all my orders etc be ok? Are there any pitfalls I should watch out for by doing it this way?

Oh, and something I always forget when importing a snapshot... I know it asks something about updating file paths (after it has created them all in a NOTCATALOG directory... am I supposed to click YES to update or NO??
I re-read the prompt over and over again and can never work out which I'm supposed to do to use the original my documents filepath!!

can I just add..... would I have to suspend orders on my website while doing this?
Will there be any issues with conflicting versions etc?
If I'm going to have to suspend orders, it's going to have to be done overnight and my sick 2yo has had me up enough over the last week already... not sure I have the stomach to pull an all-nighter working!!

As I'm just reinstalling the same version, if orders are placed during my reinstall, will they be downloadable?

I see from elsewhere that you have done the re-install and managed to get your sites up and running, but just for hte record here are the answers to your questions (for the benefit of others)

The answer to this is 'Yes'. Your orders will be fine. The only settings you might have to check are the settings in 'Housekeeping | Security'. I have a feeling they are kept in the database now in v7 (they used to be in the registry) but I tend to put these in word doc to keep them safe.

If your images are on the PC you are importing the snapshot into, and the filepaths within the Actinic installation point to them correctly, then click 'No'. Only click yes if you are copying the snapshot onto a new PC where the images don't exist.

Up to you. We advise it during an upgrade becasue it could be that orders are placed with a v6 store which then have 'issues' when you try and download them into a v7 store. I suggest that as you are just doing a re-install to pull them down before doing the re-install and then make sure you refresh the store after doing the reinstall.
