    acatalog/index.html

    All,

I have a weird problem and I think I caused it when I initally ftp'd my site. I've noticed most Actinic catalogs are under www.mydomain.co.uk/acatalog/index.html

    Mines under http://www.fragrant-home.co.uk/acata...rant_home.html
Im not sure how I've done it and if it's a problem.. When I hover over the links on my home (brochure) page they give the right .html's, but the catalog gives a cgi-bin directory..
When I go to acatalog/index.html it gives a directory listing.

Any ideas what I might have done (polite answers only please) and how I might fix it?? Sites still testing so I'm willing to try anything...

    Thanks,
    Graham

    Why don't you call fragrant_home.html, index.html instead

BTW your site doesn't view in 800*600 res.

Well, yeah, I guess I could do that
      (thanks...)

It seems to work in 800*600 ?

what I meant for 800*600 is that it slides off the right hand side of the screen.

Not a good design technique. It is better to use a % table so the table will expand and contract depending on the screen res.

There are as many 800*600 users as there are 1024*768...why risk aleinating half your user base

Also search engines will always index pages called index higher than other pages

          Hi,
OK, thanks for pointing that out. I'm not exactly sure how I've managed it though. I tend to leave html well alone..Everything looks OK except my main catalog.
Any ideas with piece of html controls that bit, is it ProductBody.html?

Both your brochure page and the catalog slide to the right in 800.

I think.....Design options|site Defaults ACTSTDWIDTH is where to set the width......what have you got there.... try using 600 and see if that improves things.

I've got that set to 550, which I think is the default.. I tried 600, no difference I think for now I'll change it to just 2 columns, rather than 3, and I'll do some investigation.

Thinking about it, it might be my logo is too big...
