    Unable to update network setup

    Hi

We have just bought SSL for our site and our hosts have given us a new URL as we were previously on a shared server & needed to be on a server all on our own. My site is still in test mode at the moment but I am no longer able to upload it and I get the error message - "unable to connect to the FTP server. The operation has timed out." Having spoken to our hosts they told us that we needed to change the FTP Server Host but all fields in the Advanced Network Setup screen are all greyed out. Can anyone help?

Also, a rather silly one - I have somehow managed to delete the home page, although when I say delete it is not updatable but still appears at the front end of the website (completely naked)! How can I re-instate it so that i can at least put a welcome message on it?

    Thank you

    Numpty

Go into View | Business Settings and Options tab.

Make sure the Network Setup checkbox is checked, which will allow you to make changes to that area.

      Network setup

      Hello again

The network setup box is ticked, and the SSL box is ticked in the 'Payments and Security' screen (with option Checkout pages and Customer Log In only).
Is there anywhere else which might affect this screen?

      Thank you

        Hi there.

You mentioned that your site is in 'Test Mode' this has the effect of greying out all the fields in the 'Network setup'.

To be able to edit your settings, you first need to go to 'Web | Switch to Production mode' Please note this will attempt to delete the contents of the test website. If you do not want this to occur, make sure you are not connected to the Internet, ie pull the network cable out.

Once the store is out of test mode, you can edit the network settings and hopefully be able to upload.

        Hope this helps.
