Creating a new store without checkout - help please!

    Hi Guys

First time here, and urgently need to find a solution for a client.

They're not keen to progress down the e-commerce route in stage 1, prefering to simply build an online catalogue which has cart functionality, but instead of transacting a purchase at the end, the simply submits an order. Also they need to run 2 sales channels with different prices - retail and trade, which adds to the complexity.

Anyhow the order would then be verified manually and entered into an existing EPOS system in store. They would however like to go down the e-commerce route eventually, so ideally we'd like to start with an adaptable solution instead of creating something we're going to have to throw away 1 year down the road.

Any ideas? Actinic doesn't seem to fit, but I thought I'd ask.

    cheers

Actinic will do this straight out of the box. You can use Payment Method of Credit card details captured for later processing. Then either use SSL or the inbuilt Java Applet for handling this info securely.

      Hi Norman

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

      OK

So the credit card details are captured, but they are not actually transacted at the point of submitting the order, if I understand you correctly. This may be an acceptable solution to the client. Are the card details stored on the server say for trade accounts, where they make multiple purchases, so that they don't have to re-enter them each time, which would be irritating.

      cheers

Trade customers would use an account that has been setup. The CC details wouldn't be stored on the server but the client could obviously choose to hold them locally if that's what he's agreed with his customers.
