    Problem with site path

    Hi,
I am in the process of setting up a new store utilising the Catalog 25 trial. All was well initially but now the store generates the path to the shop.html page as

    http://shop.actinic.com/trials/trial...1821/shop.html

which the browser cannot find (as trial1821 occurs twice). Removing one of the 'trial1821' in the browser manually seems to then point to the correct page.

Any help would be most appreciated!

What have you entered into your 'Home Page Link' in 'Design | Options | Miscellaneous'? If you have a URL in there, try setting it to 'None'.

      Hi Chris,

There is no url set as a home page link. The Brochure radio button was selected, changing this to 'none' makes no difference. The site works fine on my local machine, only after uploading does the catalog lose its directory path although the top level navigation works ok.

Any help would be most appreciated!

      Regards,

      Chris

Hmmm... bit stumped on this one. Certainly never seen it happening before. I guess its not that serious as you can still look at your site - it is just the 'Browse site' button is disabled.

Try setting the 'Home Page Link' to 'Brochure' and see if that makes a difference. It should start using http://shop.actinic.com/trials/trial1821/index.html when you click the little globe button.

Could you have a look in 'Advanced | Network Setup' and tell me what your store has in the ' Catalog URL' and 'Path from cgi-bin to Catalog directory' fields.

          Thanks for your help Chris,

Reverting the Home page link back to 'Brochure' (where it was originally) makes everything work OK again - odd that!

The catalog URL is http://shop.actinic.com/trials/trial1821/ (which I assume is as it should be) and the path from CGI bin (although it is grayed out is <path>/acatalog

          Many thanks,

          Chris

Glad to hear you are back in business. I will check with the development team what might have happened.

              Hi there,

              this happened with me too.

The general appearance of the site was fine until you purchased something and the clicked on confirm to continue shopping to took you to a blank page and the URL looked like this http://www.mirex.co.uk.mirex.co.uk/actatalog
then all of a sudden after a few updates to my website it was fine ???
it also did this with a few of the url's for images. obviously they would not appera due to there path being incorrect.
Testing Actinic to see what it is like. I am Impressed.
