Search Engines & keywords

Im thinking (only thinking!) of how to optimise my site for search engines. Do search engines take any notice of the words in the extended information pop-ups which you can add to your products?

I don't think they will because they won't be able to find the pop ups since they are called by javascript.....

I've just been through one of my sites, in Google i have every acatalog page indexed.....but not one info/pop up page

surprised 2 see pop up window on google!

Just did a search from www.ntlworld.com which uses google, for a product of mine "gutting knife" and was surprised to see my extended info windows have been found by the search engine!! and ranked above my normal shop page also!
Anyone else had this?
Im pleased to be up the list but it would be better to have the regular shop page appear before the info pop up.
