    Actinic on Dedicated Server

    Right, basically we've got a dedicated server through Fasthosts.co.uk on a Windows plan.

    We can't upload the Actinic site as we get the following error;

    An error has occurred whilst attempting to change permissions of the file ActinicBasicCgiTest.pl.

    The FTP Server returned a reply code of 500.

    The current permissions of the file are 0666 and the required permissions are 0755.

    The connection wizard will not continue.
    Any ideas?

    This link http://knowledge.actinic.com/acatalo..._379.html#a999 suggests that there is a document that Actinic can send me to resolve??

    Fasthosts + Windows + Actinic = probably the most problematic setup in the history of the forum. Contact Actinic direct regarding the settings for the server, just make you sure you have the basic settings and correct permissions in place, before you dig too deep. It may be a very quick and basic fix.

      You need to change the permissions on the acatalog and cgi-bin directories to 755, you may need to get fasthosts to do this for you.
