is LowCostNames anything to do with Demon?

just wondering why your SMTP is host.demon.co.uk

Demon is the ISP. (LCN ask that the ISP be used for SMTP)

Have you tried using 'localhost' as the SMTP server? Try it in place of the deamon settings and then test. If it passes then all the best. Let us know.

          Hi Bruce,

Using localhost as the SMTP server seems to have solved my connection problem for now. I have managed to upload the site successfuly.

Will try and resolve the email problems at a later date.

          Thanks,

          John

            Dual System, shared connection

Hi, I've been using actinic for a long time on a single dedicated connection with no problem. But now I've added side-by-side dual systems (Mac & Windows XP) to my computer, and Windows is using the Mac wireless internet connection. Windows finds the connection just fine, but I can't get Actinic to find it. Do I set this up as a proxy server, and if so how? I've tried everything I can think of! Any and all help is welcome!

why double post? it won't achieve anything quicker, in fact it's often slower.

                connection problem

I do all my graphics on a Mac laptop, and refuse to use Photoshop on Windows because it's so annoying and clumsy. I want all my website software on one computer, and Actinic looks like it will run just fine on my Mac - IF I can just get it to find the connection. It doesn't seem any slower at all so far.

As lee says please stop double posting - people do not answer double posts.
