The error message means your email network settings aren't working. The way to fix this is:

    1. Find out from your web host what the email settings should be.

    2. Make sure you have them correctly entered into actinic.

    3. If that doesn't work, search the forum to see if you can find posts with the same problem before.

    4. If all else fails, post your network settings and web host info here and I'm sure someone will try to help you.

duplicate thread, please delete the other thread as requested

      http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=31205

and follow through on bill's suggestions before posting again please

which i quote here to save unnecessary duplication of effort

You might want to repost this in the Upload Problems, Connection problems an Network Settings Forum, with information about who your host is, and a copy of your network settings (with usernames/passwords starred *** out).

One thing to check before you do that, is how you progress using localhost as the smtp server setting with the requires username and password tickbox cleared.

Please report back here with the name of your host if the change to localhost works.

Hi have you tried 10.1.1.200 instead of localhost as thats one of the things easyspace say, who are iomart. Might be worth a try.

One more thought, probably a stooopid one, but you dont have a firewall on your pc stopping the connection?
