Can not upload to Live Site

I have downloaded the new 7.07 patch and imported the snapshot but it won't upload...it stops half way through, at the part of 'Checking search
indices'. When it gets to the end, 'Creating remote directory structure' it
pauses for ages and just closes itself.

Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Have you searched the forum using the phrase

"Creating remote directory structure" as there are plenty of other threads out there with ideas and solutions you should eliminate these solutions before asking again.
