Sorry Tom, I said this slightly wrong
I meant post your network settings: click this in Actinic

WEB/NETWORK SETUP/EXPORT, save the file as a text file then simply copy & paste it on here

Also, something I had to do although someone tell me if I'm wrong, but first time round I had to click:

    WEB/GENERATE SCRIPTS
WEB/GENERATE WEBSITE, the upload for it work?

    Strange stuff

        PATHTOCGIBIN /user/htdocs/cgi-bin/
        USEPASSIVEFTP false
        FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG /user/htdocs/acatalog/

This don't look right to me unless you have specifically created these folders?

        the "/user/htdocs" as above

        try this instead

        PATHTOCGIBIN /public_html/cgi-bin/
        USEPASSIVEFTP false
        FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG ../acatalog/

Unfortunately this didn't work because I don't have public_html in my ftp hierarchy. User was already in there, which is where the htdocs folder is kept.

../acatalog/ just means it's going back 2 folders to the cgi bin, which it is doing already.

          Any other ideas??

            Have you done this?

            WEB/GENERATE SCRIPTS
WEB/GENERATE WEBSITE, then upload for it work?

Also, do you have or can you see any files in your cgi-bin via your ftp program?

              #21
Yes I've already done that and all the files are in the CGI bin. I think the problem may be with the links in the buttons. What do you think?

Looking at the links on the live site, there is confusion as your site is creating incorrect links from the software.

I doubt if the network settings are incorrect

If i hover over the Home link it shows

                http://www.adjustablebedshop.co.uk/a...oot_index.html

this is clearly wrong. and is a mix of preview mode and rubbish

if i hover over SiteMap i get http://www.adjustablebedshop.co.uk/a...P_sitemap.html - again this is preview mode not live

You need to go back to the design tab and recover your links. I would revert the horizontal nav bar to factory, and reset the basket and checkout links.

Or even completely revert to default Exec theme and start the design process again

I have no idea how this has happened but all your links indicate as if you're in preview mode?

Even the home button links to your C drive......

You'll either have to manually edit the links that are at fault here or go back to a previous snapshot and run it in TEST mode first to ensure it works before uploading for real

Hmm yes. I haven't a clue how this has happend! I'm so used to using dw and flash and this kind of programme is a bit alien to me at the mo. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon!! I'll have another crack at it and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help and suggestions everyone!!!

for the most part Tom, some of the links work ok as they should, whilst this will be a pain in the rear, you'd just need to manually take out the "dodgy text" in the links that take you to your C drive and hopefully all should be ok

I'm a DW user so I know what you mean with Actinic but it's a good product when you keep working with it

Good luck and do let us know when you sort it or perhaps how this happended?

                            Tom

Was you by chance doing your site in "design mode" for this to cause your site to go funny?

                                Yes, I do Tom
I'm guessing you're a designer? - only someone else was having grief and then it transpired they were in Design mode and it all went "Pete Tong"

You should be in Content mode for general site creation and editing, - I don't know HOW your links went wrong but gut feeling is you being in Design mode and you may have took it for granted that it works like DW?

I'm clutching at straws here but this is possibly where it had started to go wrong I reckon
