    Hosting with Nominate.com

    Hi,
I am new to this and am thinking of taking out hosting package with www.nominate.com because I have an old email I want to use which is parked with them.

Does anyone have any experience with them? I have sent them the 'message to potential host' but they have not replied yet (2 days).

Can anyone recommend another good hosting company that I can put my shopping cart?

    Thanks in advance
I have learnt a lot lately reading this forum. Thanks

There has been polts of discussions regarding hosting.

    (EDIT: link removed)

Linux would be the first decision unless you have other existing pages that require windows.
Personally I use 1and1 nd have no problems, some use Webfusion, others who want specialist Actinic hosting choose Pinbrook.

I have no idea if nominate are ok but If you have an old domain parked then you should be able to transfer it to another host easily.

      Thanks for the information.
Is there any advantage in using the specialist hosts Pinbrook over the others?

      btw: The link doesn't work.

Thats the advantage of using a specialist host
For example, if you host with us we send you the network settings file, so you will have no problem uploading for the first time.

we often act as arbitrators - ie you have a problem you don't know who needs to fix it - ie hosting, actinic or yourself, we can often point you in the right direction.

Using a specialist means you should never get stuck between a rock and a hard place, actinic says its a hosting issue, your host says it software.

Bigger hosts tend not to be able to offer the specialist tech support, you often have to sort things out yourself. Hence the guys who know what they are doing tend to use what i call the faceless hosts such as 1&1 etc.

Our prices are on our website, all plans are fine for Actinic.

Thanks for the all the help guys.\
I have to admit that i've gone with 1and1 for now because of the first 3 months free offer and the overall cost. Money is tight at the moment.

Thanks for the input Pinbrook anyway and hope it helps others make a choice.
