problems with shopping cart page -cant delete items

I have just set up my first (and fairly simple)shop with catalog LE and all seems to be well, except that when viewing the cart i cant remove items already added. there are a few other small formatting difficulties but this poses the biggest problem. none of the update, save , retrieve etc buttons work.

    can anyone help?

Backup, then revert your cart layout to original. Looking at your site it seems to be messed up

      Ditto here.

Just to confirm what Duncan has stated, that I am also finding errors in your cart, messed up indeed.

To reiterate, revert and start again.

sorry but i am a bit of a novice with actinic.
i have backed up a site snapshot but when i look at a page preview of the cart page in actinic it looks fine. can you give me a bit more info? i have done what i thought was a revert on the cart layout but no difference. can i revert the layout on just the cart and update only that page to the active site?
        if so how?
        thanks again

Yes you can revert just that layout and then update the site, however if you still have the problem (after cclearing your browser cache) then you can try a purge and refresh which will update all the site.

I have tried opening the cart page in design view abd identifying the layout.(View Cart Bulk Area)then from the design menu selecting library then the correct layout and right click / revert to factory settings. then web/update website - can you tell me if this is correct? if not can you describe the process i need to use to do what you have suggested.

            thanks
