    1&1 network settings - HELP

    Hi there,

I host with 1&1 Business Package and have trawled through the forums for an answer. I have made changes as a result but am still getting the following error message:

Unable to move to the cgi-bin directory "/NOLIMITS07/cgi-bin/" on the FTP server.
The specified directory does not exist or you do not have access to the directory.

The server is fine, the network is fine, and I can upload via FTP, but don't know where all the files go. As the website is currently running as a non ecommerce site, I am uploading the Actinic shopping site to another folder on the server (NOLIMITS07) which is within the web's root server (Nolimits), to test the new site. Could this be the problem?

    My network settings are:

    HTTPPROXYMODE 0
    HTTPPROXYADDRESS
    HTTPPROXYPORT 80
    HTTPPROXYUSER
    HTTPPROXYPASSWORD
    FTPPROXYMODE 0
    FTPPROXYADDRESS
    FTPPROXYPORT 21

    FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG

    Permissions for cgi-bin = 755 and acatalog = 777
Both cgi-bin and acatalog are folders within NOLIMITS07

I know from reading lots of posts that 1&1 are not the best hosts for Actinic, but I have seen that some Actinic users do use 1&1.

    Can anyone help please??

      Try these:
      http://community.actinic.com/showthr...ighlight=1and1
Also - create the cgi-bin and acatalog folders manually and set the permissions on them first.

Try changing this to be your root folder name (ie public_html)

I have already tried your settings Duncan, without success. Also tried changing the cgi-bin path to /public_html/cgi-bin and I get this message:

Unable to move to the cgi-bin directory "/public_html/cgi-bin/" on the FTP server.
The specified directory does not exist or you do not have access to the directory.

                              Any other suggestions please???
