Having troble updating website

Hi All,
Im sure there must be a thread somewhere but I cant find it! Im trying to update the website but keep getting the following: unable to connect to the FTP server because the specified user name and password are incorrect. Ive tried to get hold of Support but I cant get through, something wrong with their switchboard apparently!! Does anyone know how I can get passed this?

It looks like either you or your hosts have changed the FTP username or password. No-one but the aforementioned will be able to help.

People hosted on Fasthosts have had major troubles recently as Fasthosts reset many passwords due to their customer details being compromised.

Does anyone know how I can get passed this?

Hopefully not, as this would mean that your site was hackable.

Yes, but Fasthosts sent everyone newly encrypted passwords by post.

You were then advised to change them again yourself online.

If with Fasthosts, give them a call and they will give you the new password.
At least, imo, their customer service is good and available 24 hrs.
