    MDAC and Windows XP

    I have justed installed v4 on my new shiny XP laptop BUT the MDAC installation fails. After a bit of research, I find that XP comes with MDAC 2.7 and you cannot install previous versions! The knowledgebase tells me that Actinic works with MDAC 2.5 - what does all this mean for me?

    Technical explanation please BUT in essence I suppose the question is can v4 be run on Windows XP operating system? The last thing I want to do is move my very stable and profitable business to a new PC without understanding if there are any issues involved.

    My V4 test site runs on my XP machine - it's only a test site though so I don't use it like you would a proper shop.

      Versions 4 ,5 and 6 will all run on MDAC 2.7.

      I have the above versions running on my XP machine. All software written for earlier versions of MDAC will run on newer ones.
