I have recently tranfered over my website from easyspace to BT connect. I have the actinic software where I am making my final changes for the site before it goes live. I have also been able to upload my site to the offline site without any problems but when my web designer tried to test the site it failed saying operation timed out, then this error code comes up
The test script failed to execute on the web server. The error could be caused by several things. Check the path to the Perl shell, the CGI script extension, the path to CGI-BIN, and the CGI-BIN URL. This error could also occur if your web site is out of disk space or your web server is not configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts.
I have been going back and forth with my web designer and bt, my designer who is connected with easyspace says that all the server details, common settings are correct and it's probably the SMTP Server thats wrong, she said that it should be number or start with local host as the SMTP Server for bt is mail.btconnect.com.
BT have said the SMTP Server is correct and have tested the emails to make sure its working. My web designer has even spoke to bt on my behalf but there not familiar with the actinic software.
I'm not sure what to do I may have to go back to easyspace. I looked at the postings regarding Bt connection problems to see if that helped. On one posting it said something about in order for actinic to work with bt you must have the internet business pack which I have aswell as the web publisher, I just spoke to bt and they don't do that package anymore.
Can someone help me cause I don't know what to do .....
