    Setup cannot find cgi-bin

    Hi

I am new to Actinic and trying to configure my web settings - I have my own remote Win2003 server (not an ISP server so I have full IIS6 control).

I have created a cgi-bin folder and used the Wizard in Actinic Business to locate the path. However when it checks the network settings it starts trying to "guess" the cgi-bin path and then eventually fails, saying the cgi-bin folder does not exist.

The folder does exist (I can browse to it in Actinic) and Actinic's FTP is logging in with the main Admin account so it has full permissions.

Does anyone know what might be happening?

    Many thanks
    Justin

There used to be a section in the Advanced User Guide about setting it to run locally... not sure if it is still in there but worth a look all the same. You can download it from the main Actinic website.

      Thanks jon

Just managed to get past this problem by ignoring the wizard and setting up the network settings manually...

Now I'm pretty much ok but when I click on a product in the store I get a cgi error, saying:

Error: Error opening the index "./acatalog/oldprod.fil". No such file or directory. The web site is probably being updated. Please wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, contact us.

Now this file doesn't exist, so it's clear why it's not being found. However it's not in my local install of Actinic either. Where can I find it and why isn't it there automatically?

        Thanks again

          Hi

It looks like the network settings have not been configured correctly that is why this could be happening. If you drop me a mail @ kcsupport/at/actinic/dot/co/dot/uk , I'll send you a guide for configuring the network settings to work on an IIS6 server.
