    who is your host?

it could be the server not responding, it could be to much traffic on your ISP

Does it pass the network test and have you tried increasing the ftp settings, available once enhanced ftp is selected? Who is your host?

          * My site currently is hosted by Easy CGI, a hosting provider based in the US
          * Yes, I have done the network tests and it has passed that.

          * I have tried using Enhanced FTP but I still get this "FTP error occurred. Error: The operation timed out" message

          * And yes, maybe it could be too much traffic at my ISP since I just learnt that my 128Kbps link to them is going through a sector that has only 2MB bandwidth to which we all share in the area that I am in with other subscribers to my ISP. Could I need a high speed broadband connection since my website is quite large?

          * Am still trying. I tried uploading to the Actinic Trail Sites, and it uses HTTP's Post Method to upload my files, I didn't get any time out errors then, but I got error message "An error occured while merging files on the remote site. Diff file checksum error (Calculated 12446375, Expected 12444284). Please refresh your website. If problem persists and you are unable to upload your store contact your Actinic Reseller or Actinic Support as appropriate. "

Am back trying to upload my website again. PLEASE URGENT HELP NEEDED.

Thanks very much for your replies and help in what ever suggestions

            Error Message 3
FTP error changing directories to /.

            Error Message 4
An error occurred while writing to "acatalog" on the web site. The problem is probably due to permissions problem, but could be due to low disk space. Actinic can not work with these settings. Press Cancel if you would like to manually examine the permissions and disk space on the web site. Press Retry if you would like Actinic to attempt to change the permissions on the directory for you.

Error Message 5 (This message was received when I tried uploading the the actinic trial hosting sites to see if there was some problem with my connections)
An error occured while merging files on the remote site. Diff file checksum error (Calculated 12446375, Expected 12444284). Please refresh your website. If problem persists and you are unable to upload your store contact your Actinic Reseller or Actinic Support as appropriate.

Oh my goodness, yes you do need broadband from an ISP which doesn't squeeze the bandwidth down to nothing. Have a look at Zen.
