error occured while sending the merge request

We have just moved over from windows shared hosting to a linux VPS hosting account. and have an error message when uploading the website for the first time with the vps.

on the upload right at the end on the process box where it says

Merging Incremental Updates at the Website.

We get an error message stating

"error occured while sending the merge request"

I take it this is an issue with the web host, but can anyone elaborate on the problem??? So that i can take it up with them please.

Probably the most common error message ever, usually just a web|refresh needed.

Just having a read about on the forum about this error.
Have done a compact of the database, and am currently in the process of uploading a complete refresh of the website.

i guess its working now, as Lee said its common, i get this often enough to take no notice now, just click up load and its fine, i also add this has never been specific to one host either.

Yes mate thanks for that. all working now.
I've personally never had this error message before.

But as you say a compact of the database | refresh of the site

made all the difference
