    Product Images

I am working up to doing a big import which will create all the products with their respective pictures. Am I right in thinking that if I follow the advice below I can just use the image filename rather than the filename with the whole path?

To save images, you should create a new sub-directory within 'C:\Program Files\Actinic ecommerce v6\Site1' (or equivalent) called 'Images' or 'Pictures'. This has the advantage of keeping all your image files together for easy selection, upload and back-up.

    Hi Ian

You will also need to include any sub-directories under Site1 (or equivalent), e.g. Images\Category1\Product1.jpg

I've tried to do exactly this, so that all my images exist in a directory structure under 'Site1'. It didn't work. I have some rollover images that are specified by "SRC=..." and when attempting to upload, catalog says "SRC= commands can't include a path" (or words to that effect).
Is there a way around this?

If you have hardcoded images, then I would include the images in Advanced | Additional Files and point the source to the acatalog directory.

I have some hardcoded image files that I used to place directly into the Site1 directory. I've now changed this and added my hardcoded image files using the "Additional Files" option but now when I upload my site I get a message saying that the filenames must be unique. I've deleted the images from the Site1 directory but it seems to think they are still there. How do I overcome this?

You've got the problem because you are trying to upload two files with the same name from two different directories.

Have a look down the 'Additional Files' list and find the files with the same name. Decide which is the one you want and then delete/rename the other one. You then have to remove the entry from the 'Additional Files' list with the 'Remove' button.
