    Test site not being removed?

When I go into Test Mode, the files get correctly uploaded to the server and I can test things OK.

However, when I come out of Test Mode although Actinic says it is removing the test area and seems to pause (minor hang), it does not actually remove anything and the Test Site is permenantly there on the server.

Has anyone else come across this problem?
    Has anyone found a solution?

    Thanks,

You can ftp into your server and remove it manually if you want. Connection may have failed during the delete.

      Lee,

agreed - I could use the ftp program and manually wipe out the test area.

But this problem is happening every time - not just an isolated occasion. That's why I doubt if it's an ftp session problem. But can't think what else it would be?

I'm not sure then Laura, it's probably something most people would not spot. To be fair to both actinic and your server, if someone sent me images like on your site, i think i'd hold on to them too.

on the subject, i find actinic has never been very good a deleting test sites, if it fails it then its leaves it there

I find this with my credit card bill, if i don't pay it, it stays there and keeps nagging at me.

to ensure your test site doesn't get indexed it would be a good idea to use a robots file to disallow google et al from accessing it - at least then if the test site doesn't get removed it will have less of a knock on effect

create a file called robots.txt in notepad

                  put the following in it

                  User-agent: *
                  Disallow: /acatalog/test/
save it and upload to root of site

Jo, good suggestion and I will do that, thanks.

I have read that it is only the "good" robots that follow the robot.txt - others and knowledgeable people can still get in there.

So I'd rather it got wiped out when it is supposed to.
