    Upload "not responding"

    Hello

I have had issues in the past with time-outs, and been able to click to continue, but am experiencing a different problem at present.

I get into the "sending catalog files" stage, and the system just stops, with no data being transmitted, and no time-out message for an absolute age. Last upload it was around 1 hour till I got the time-out message.

Then I can click to continue.

I'm using broadband with 8Mb nominal download speed (not sure of upload speed), so I'd hate to think it's because of "slow" connectivity, and this has not been an issue in the past.

The only options I seem to have are
    a) to cancel, and start all over again (done this several times since midnight!)
    b) just wait and hope eventually the software will respond. (If I click anywhere on the "Check & Send Files" box, it adds a helpful "(Not Responding)" to the box title.

    Any thoughts / help available?

I have had this in the past, unplugging the network lead prompts it to register the connection problem.

Sounds like an ftp problem, have you tried using an ftp program to check that you cant ftp to your server ok

FTP, Dreamweaver, Outlook, etc all working with no noticeable problem, which makes me suspect it's not the connectivity, but a software issue.

I'll try your suggestion of unplugging the connection, thanks.

Another common cause is a firewall blocking the upload. If you don't have a direct connection then try that as well

Disconnecting & reconnecting has not solved the problem. I currently keep getting stuck at "difftext.fil" (earlier it was an html page). Does that help identify a problem?

I haven't made changes to my firewall, and I'm getting some files uploaded, prior to getting stuck.

sorry mu suggestion for the unplugging was to force actinic to error quicker rather than wait.

Have you changed the script id, i normally suggest this as it seems to fix most of my upload problems

If you have 'passive ftp' ticked then try unticking it (and vice versa).
