Stand Alone Upload - Using Compression

We upload our site to use on a standalone machine as mentioned in the advance user guide, however the version of War FTP Daemon we are using doesn't support compressed uploads.

Does anyone know if there is a newer / different version of FTP software that would support compressed uploads.

Or of course, am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks.

The upload compression is dependant on if the perl modules are installed. I did not think this had anything to do with the ftp server? i may be wrong

I went looking for that article, but couldn't find it (Looking in the wrong place). And the link from top of the version 9 forum about the update goes elsewhere.

However as that article recommends, if you check that Archive::Zip is installed, it is, but doesn't seam to working.

Below is the error that I am getting, followed by Retry or Cancel.

"Unable to connect to the FTP server because the specified username or password is incorrect.

Connection problem could occur if the server does not fully support compressed upload.
Try disabling it by going to 'Network Setup' within the 'Web' menu, select the 'FTP options' button, uncheck 'Enable Upload Data Compression' and try the upload again."

I only get this error if I am using compressed uploads.

That's Darren for associated, ie there isn't just one module to upload.

Jethro as you use the forums more and more you will realise that spelling mistakes are common i get grief from a number or regulars (and to be honest some make more mistakes than me these days) but watch out, young richard is in training and he is doing well

Don't worry Darren, my spelling is fine, thanks to Word and spell checker.

Doesn't help when I am searching the forum though!

I hope that's set to International English and not American English. I'd rather guess what the spelling mistakes are supposed to say than read 'Americanised' words

                              Spelling mistakes.

What? you trust a spell checker two correct your miss takes four ewe?
Even set to proper English they still get it wrong. Try the sentence above.
