Uploading Permissions

Hi,

We have re-developed a website for our client. We had managed to upload the changes to a testing server (subdomain on another domain) for the client to view the changes to the website as we made them.

However, the client is now happy for us to make the site live and we are having trouble uploading back to the live website. We have used all the same details as our client had used previously, but when trying to setup the site through 'Connection Wizard' we recieve the following message...

Your FTP account does not have permission to write to the web root directory.
200 Type Set to A
550 ActinicWebSiteTest.html Permission denied.

We have looked into previous posts relating to amending permissions (on the 'acatalog' and 'cg-bin') within the FTP but this doesn't seem to make a difference.

Does anyone know why we might be receiving this message and how we can solve the problem?

who is the host? (please don't say fasthost)

have you checked file permissions as the error message indicates (a forum search will help) i'm assuming the file permissions are 755 and 777

Have you checked cgi-bin exists on the server? Most servers although allowing access to a cgi-bin often require it to be created with permissions set to "755"
