    Error 500 Internal server error

    Hi,

I am trying to upload a new store and keep getting 500 internal server error. I have spoken to the hosting company and not got much help, permissions are set to 777 which is over the requirement but it still will not load correctly.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

    J

    Hi Jez

Who are your hosting company? Also if you are using v6 of Actinic, please register an account on our 30 day trial server

    Here is the link: http://trials.actinic.com/

If it uploads their, then there seems to be a change within your hosting company?

    Did it ever work before?

    Kind Regards

If you can get to your error server log, you will get more information. Some ISP's give you this, some don't. I don't know how I could survive without this.

        Hi Nadeem & rmladden,

Registered for the trail, what would the ftp details be? It did work but I deleted the files as the finished store is about to go up, checked the permissions on both acatalog and cgi directory (after purge). The error occours when I go Web> Refresh web-site, then as soon as I get to merging catalog files (last stage of refresh) the error appears, Also tried changing the script ID, no luck..

Oh B"$%^Q£$ks would this error occour if there is no index.htm in the root directory of the site? Just a sudden thought...

        Cheers

I'ts impossible to debug this way, but I would bet that Perl is not installed on the server as Actinic expects it to be.

The store uploaded fine to the test area (except images)

So back to the host, fyi we use donhost. Thanks for looking RM, any ammunition I can use for getting them to sort the problem, they are very good at passing the buck..

            Cheers

              FYI

Sorted this, somehow I managed to set the catalog to test mode in payment service providers, I then changed the provider to PayPal without removing the run in test mode, this somehow caused major problems and the site would not upload. So to fix I changed it back to actinic encryption and turned off test mode then changed it back to pay pal hey presto it uploaded fine.
