Time outs FTP session was terminated since Host migration

We were originally hosting our site with Technoweb who now seem to be Host-IT. Host-IT migrated their servers on Wednesday night and since then we have only had time out errors and 'FTP session was terminated' errors when trying to upload.

Nothing on our system changed at 10pm Wednesday except the Actinic network settings that were changed as per instructions.

I did notice that the CGI bin permissions are 750, i thought they needed to be 755 but Host_IT seem to be ignoring that. Is it still important or has something changed since the sticky?

I finally managed to change the permissions (according to filezilla) on the CGI big to 755. However i still have a problem.

According to Host-IT their FTP loogs show that we "have been successfully uploading files, with the possibility of some connections being dropped from your local machine"

Any ideas why my local machine would suddenly start dropping the connection after Host-IT migrated to a different server?

The permissions are still the same you need 755 not 750. Manually change them with an FTP client to the correct settings then run a network test and check for errors.

        Thank you for replying

My problem was that when i manually set the permissions to 755, they seemed to automatically revert to 750.

Host-it finally told me after 4 days of getting annoyed with them that I needed to set it to 000 first......

Would have been nice if instead of trying to get me to try uploading from a different site, they had spent more time reading my original ticket where i pointed out my problems might involve my apparent inability to change the permissions from 750 to 755.....
