    shared ssl

    Hi everyone --

I am installing Actinic on my web host, and I use a shared security certificate. When I try to use the "Configure Web Site Details" wizard, or try to click on the "test" button from the "Network Setup" screen, I get the following error:
There is a problem with the SSL certificate:- The host name in the certificate is invalid or does not match

I do know that these don't match. Is there any way I can tell Actinic that this is OK and have it bypass this error when uploading my site?

    Thanks so much -- Jen

Hi Jen have you sorted this yet? if not give us a call off the forum and well have a quick look for you. Im sure you dont really want to post all your settings here.

One time we did get this error was when we got a new ssl and the first couple i put on there i did this:

    https://secureplace.co.uk/ourclient/acatalog/

    when it should have been

    https://www.secureplace.co.uk/ourclient/acatalog/

Notice in the second one there is www. before the secureplace part.

I may be wrong here but as far as I know the SSL is ONLY either on the one with www. or without www. NOT both.

In short whichever one you are using now it may be worth trying the other one....

Failing that, if anyone else cant help, give us a quick call.

Thanks so much for the reply.

I was actually trying to use Actinic with a shared certificate -- not one from Actinic, but one from my ISP. Turns out I can't get it to work, so I am subscribing to the shared Actinic license.

      Thanks again - Jen
