Unable to move to the online store folder

    Hello,
I am trying to upload an eval version of Actinic to my windows server.
I have a dedicated server at Fasthosts.

When I run the Advanced Network Setup I get an error
"Unable to move to the online store folder "../" on the FTP server possibly due to a mistake in the Path from CGI-BIN to Online Store Folder field.
The specified directory does not exist or you do not have access to the directory."
    Please see image "change directory"
    and "Directory Layout"

On the server the files are set in a directory "htdocs" and the security is set at read and execute permissions.
Can anyone see where I am going wrong please?
    Many thanks
    John

Your choice of hosts, most problematic host with actinic ever, bar none. Change if you can, get hair replacement therapy if you cannot. Search the forum and see the carnage and also maybe find an answer to what you need .

PS: leave blank field doesn't look blank, try that first.

      Thanks leehack,
Thats definitely not what I wanted to hear...

I use fasthosts for several sites and have found them to be mostly excellent.

I could perhaps try a windows server at 1and1. how does that sound?

There is the occasional fasthosts user that seems miraculously to get things working, but the vast majority have struggled. 1&1 are fine, you need the business version or higher and ideally not Windows hosting, again it's just historically been more hassle with Windows. Good news is that 1&1 settings are already in the forum along with any help you'd need, so mainstream is a good idea.

Fasthosts are fab for Windows hosting IMO, it's just actinic they are crap with.

          Lee unfortunately isn't kidding.

Fasthosts have caused countless nightmares here. 1&1's hosting (Business / Linux is the minimum safe bet) is problem free with Actinic.

            Thanks
I managed to get a windows test site located with 1and1 and have it test working OK with an index.html page.

However when I try to install it via the Actinic wizard I still seem to be having problems with the cgi-bin as per image.

I wondered if it was possible just to upload Actinic with WS_FTP but I guess thats not possible as I cannot see any index.htm page in the files.

            Any ideas welcome
            Cheers
            John
