123-reg upload problems 'unable to change permissions of ActinicSimple.pl'

    Hi there,
I'm having trouble getting my actinic site to upload correctly, everything goes fine using the wizard, until I reach the Perl Installation part & I get the error:
'The FTP server returned a reply code of 550.
The current permissions of the file are 0664 and the required permissions are 0755.
The connection wizard will not continue.'
My acatalog directory is set to 777 & my cgi-bin set to 755, so I have no idea why I am getting this error.
As always, any help or advice gratefully appreciated!

Which Package are you on and are you on a windows or unix server?

    Mike

PS. Using domain names without the www. are a common cause of problems (not likely to be the cause of this one though). I'd only suggest using them that way if there's a good reason to.

      Hi Mike,
it's using the 'Plus' package which should allow scripts to run, and it is hosted on a Unix/Linux server.
I can see that it's left the ActinicSimple.pl file in the cgi-bin, and have also used chmod on that, but i'm still getting the same problem when I get to the 'Perl' part of the wizard.
Gave it a try, using the 'www.'prefix, but still no luck

Try the settings suggested here in the knowledge base.

        http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=45130

I see the 'path to cgi-bin' in particular is different.

          Hi Mike,
I should have mentioned, I tried the settings from that thread, earlier last night
When I use '/cgi-bin/' as the path using the suggested settings, I get 'Unable to move to the cgi-bin directory "/cgi-bin/" on the FTP server.
The specified directory does not exist or you do not have access to the directory.'
So, I think, i'm on the right track with my original settings, as it see's the cgi-bin etc, but is unable to change permissions for some strange reason

There is another thread here where someone else had the same problems:

            http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=42958

I've asked them to post the final set of working settings. It'll save a lot of trial and error.

Thanks Mike, unfortunately, i'm still getting the same problem with the permissions on ActinicSimple.pl I've mailed 123 to see if they can possibly help!
