    Directory Listing Denied

    I have a V10 evaluation. Using catalog.

I have made a few changes to the eval files to get the idea and preview is working OK.
I decided to upload the files to a subdirectory of a site I have on a windows server.

I loaded all the files fom
C:\Documents and Settings\ownersname\My Documents\Actinic v10\Sites\Site1\ onto the server but when I use the address I get the error message
    Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.
Also in the files I cannot see an index.html
Can anyone see where I am going wrong please.
    Thanks
    John

Actinic builds the site files and uploads them for you. No manual uploading is required.

Best delete all the manually uploaded stuff and read the Starter Guide about "Uploading Your Store".

The files you've uploaded are no use on the live site and publishing ActinicCatalog.mdb lets anyone with Access see all your customer details. Hope you don't have a live site as that'd be you exposing said details to the world!

Also, you're not posting in the correct forum. There's one dedicated to Upload and Server Problems.

Thanks Norman for your kind advice.

No danger with the mdb because its all just the evaluation data, no customers on board.
I will do as you suggest
and read the Starter Guide about "Uploading Your Store".
      Regards
      John

this is a iis response when no index file is found in the www root

make sure your home page html file is called index

          Thanks Darren
This evaluation previews OK but when I look in the list of files under
My Documents\Actinic v10\Sites\Site1 I cannot see any index file there.

Further to Normans advice I carried out as follows:

            On a remote windows server2003
            I have created a folder at www.mydomain.co.uk/ActinicTrial
            Also exists is www.mydomain.co.uk/cgi-bin

To upload an evaluation of Catalog from my local PC I preceeded as follows:
Menu Select Web/Configure web site details.

            Introduction wizard
Select Configure New Network Settings >Next

            SSL Security
As I will be using a payment gateway I select
SSL and HTTP on Different servers >Next

            FTP Account
I checked connection is good in my ws_ftp software then
Entered the known server connection details >Next

            Website Address
Change Online Store Folder name change to ActinicTrial (same as folder created on Server) >Next

            Analyzing Website
            Proxy Setup OK
            Download ISP Configuration File OK
            FTP Setup OK
            WebSite Address OK

FTP Directory Paths (Verifing FTP Paths) Processes about 50%
This does not end but after a while the Directories Box shows but folders are not selectable.

            Please see picture.
            Thanks
            John

No you need to make sure in actinic that your home file name is called index.html then when you upload it will upload this file. If it is called home or shop or somthing then it wont find it.

another thing to try is, create a basic index.html file and manual ftp this to the route on your server. and this will tell you if its working
