    General Script Error

    Hello,

I know there are several other threads regarding this matter, but can't seem to find a conclusion to the problem.

I am getting the following message on all the important pages.

    A General Script Error Occurred
Error: Error opening configuration file ../acatalog/prompt.fil. No such file or directory.

I have looked at the server, and the files are on there. But would like to hear from someone who knows how to correct this problem.

I am urgently trying to get my site up and running for the new year.

What have you tried so far Adam, it will save us telling you to do things that you've already done.

Well, not to much. Im quick new at Actinic, so im slowly building up my knowledge of it.

I have tried to refresh the site. And Deleted and reloaded. But all the same.

      Have a look at www.backstagewarehouse.co.uk

I think the problem is when I generate the Scripts. The following message comes up:
"Your Web site files have been generated on your hard disk. Click "Instructions" for information on manually installing the files on the web site."

      The following then appears:

To update your web site installation,
o Transfer the CGI scripts to the CGI-BIN on your web server:
      nq000002.pl
      ms000002.pl
      mf000002.pl
      ca000002.pl
      os000002.pl
      bb000002.pl
      ss000002.pl
      se000002.pl
      cm000002.pl
      rs000002.pl
      sh000002.pl
      md000002.pl
      al000002.pm
      ad000002.pm
      as000002.pm
      di000002.pm
      ae000002.pm
      ao000002.pm
      ac000002.pm
      px000002.pm
      ax000002.pm
      cm000002.pm
      sm000002.pm
      ab000002.pm
      sl000002.pm
      dd000002.pm
      nph-dl000002.pl

o Create the Actinic web site directory
o Place the Java applet archive files in the Actinic web site directory:
      encrypt.zip
      encrypt.cab
o Create a subdirectory tree (COM/Actinic/Catalog) off of your
catalog web site directory and place the loose Java applet
      class files in it:
      EA.class
      BOS.class
      OB.class
      OR.class
      R.class
      TD.class
      S.class
      FI.class
      IC.class

Is this the case that I need to install this files one by one?

You don't need to install any files yourself manually, all you need to make sure is that a cgi-bin folder and an acatalog folder exists, they both have the right permissions and an actinic network test gives you a pass on all accounts. Without a test pass on everything, it's pointless trying to do anything.

I've moved your thread into the upload problems forum, there's a sticky in that forum showing what you need to provide if having network/website connection problems.
