    1and1 vps server upload issues

Hi we have recently taken on a 1and1 vps server (i can hear the moans from here!) should have read a few posts before hand !

But determined to make it work as the price is good and features on the vps server are just what we are looking for.

Anyway - i have managed in someway to upload most of an actinic catalogue site to varying success.

The acatlog upload fine all images and design etc, where i seem to have the issues is with either the cgi-bin or the perl scripts not uploading correctly.

the site in question is www.flextoolsdirect.com

Have answered questions below, hopefully someone can see a glaring mistake in my setup or ibetter still if someone out ther is running 1and1 vps server wiyh plesk would be great to hear from you !

Who is your host? 1and 1 vps server xxl
Is it unix or windows hosting? unix linux
Is the permission on the cgi-bin set to 755? yes
Is the permission on the acatalog folder set to 777? yes
Is this your first upload? Has it worked in the past? first upload
Have you compacted the database in the housekeeping menu? yes
Have you changed the cgi number in network setup and tried to reupload? yes
Have you run the network wizard? what was the result? passes all tests then says this: Your Catalog URL appears to be invalid. The files uploaded to the given 'Path from cgi-bin to online store folder', can not be downloaded via the browser on the given Catalog URL. These two access routes don't point to the same destination on the server. But uploads without giving any error messages?

Marcus, this is odd as the settings look right but all the products are going into the root of your website rather than into the acatalog folder.

The last setting here, is usually left blank. Can you clear and try uploading again.

    FTPPATHFROMCGITOCATALOG /acatalog/

    Mike

PS. Something odd is going on here. You have a basehref with /acatalog/ in it yet all your relative links on the LH navbar are staying at the root level. Very odd.

      Hi Mike

thanks fr your reply - tried what you said and still seems to be the same ? very strange as you say.

It must be something to do with how the root is set up in the plesk panel - do you know anyone that uses plesk10?
